My name is Billy Guzner, and I am an aspiring music producer. On this site you will find all of my favorite projects, as well as information about each one.
I was born on April 16, 2002, in Pasadena, California. I am currently attending University of Southern California, where I am majoring in cognitive science and minoring in music industry.
Music has been an important aspect of my life since I was little. Having a much older brother, I grew up mostly listening to the music he listened to before I was able to develop my own taste. This music was mostly early 2000s rock and pop-rock, specifically artists such as Linkin Park, Green Day, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, and many more. As I got older, I began to branch out and listen to music from many other genres. Initially, my main exposure to music came from the radio (which I listened to in the car and on my bedroom radio alarm clock), so I started to like the music that was popular at the time. This mostly consisted of pop and hip-hop. Katy Perry, Rihanna, Drake, and Eminem are a few artists that I got into during this phase of my life.
While my interest in these genres never faded, I gained interest in other genres as time progressed. When I was around 10 years old, I got an iPod Touch, which changed the way I listened to music, and as a result, expanded my taste. I used Pandora, which allowed me to go down a musical rabbit hole, finding artists and songs that were similar to what I already listened to. The pop music I listened to led me to find popular EDM artists such as David Guetta and Zedd. This is what ultimately got me interested in EDM and producing.
As time passed and my taste in music diversified, I began to experiment with the idea of mixing different genres of music together. I started making mashups of various pop, rap, and EDM songs. Around the same time, I took up the drums, which aided my producing skills by improving my knowledge of music and rhythm. I fell in love with making music on my computer, so I began to produce original EDM/hip hop inspired beats and instrumentals in addition to my mashups. Since then, I have continued practicing and growing as a musician.
